Here’s a video from the NAX tournament in Toronto, Canada that I played last season. This is the day before the finals. We lost our first match and were placed in the losers bracket. We had to win 5 straight 60 minute Xball matches to get to the finals. It was a grind to say the least. Enjoy….
I have to apologize for being late with my post today. Yesterday was a very long day…
It all started around 4 o’clock when Brandon Fort from PBFashion asked if I wanted to go to Orange County to help get the HK/PBFashion bus and bring it back to San Diego. Being the good friend I am, I agreed and that’s when all my troubles began.
After arriving to Jay Pineda’s house (Former HK player) and talking shop, we took the keys and started our mission. Not even 100 feet from Jay’s house, Brandon Fort took a turn to short and smashed some poor kids car with the bus! The entire side and bumper of the kids car was ruined! After trading insurance and talking to the cops we were off!
The bus is very scary to drive, especially at night. It rocks back and forth and to be frank, I don’t trust Brandon’s driving skills. After an hour of thinking my life was in jeopardy, we arrived home. What should of been a 2 hour journey turned into a 5. It was now midnight. We sat in the bus for a good 30 minutes after to take everything in!
I only had my phone to take pictures, but here are a few!

The champions of the CXBL, which is the Canadian Xball League, wins some pretty cool rings at the end of the year. It just so happen that the team I played for, Prevail, won the entire series. The rings have finally been made and here they are!
Now i’m just for them to send me mine…
The off season can make you forget about how much fun paintball can be, but weekends like this bring you right back to it! This weekend marked the first 2010 practice for the Ironmen. Only Billy Wing, Scott Kemp, Oliver Lang, Mike Paxson, and myself could make it this weekend. Mikko is over in Asia and Nicky is in New York.
This weekend was more about getting back into the rhythm and basically having fun. On Saturday we played at Gecko paintball park, which was my first time. The field was pretty cool and really close to my house. On Sunday we went over to Pendleton paintball park and played the Bushwackers and Dynasty Entourage. We managed to play a lot of points in only a couple of hours. We cut practice short to go to Billy Wing’s house to BBQ and watch football.
We have the next weekend off, followed by back to back practices in preparation for the first PSP event. Here are a few pictures from the weekend!
A loader that doesn’t need battery’s? A loader that’s super affordable for everybody? Could it be? The geniuses over at DYE and Proto want to introduce to you the new Proto Primo Loader! Let there be light!
I typed in my name on Youtube the other night and found this funny and cool video. It says “How to improve your paintball game”. I don’t recommend this to any player, but it’s a cool trick to learn!
The off season has gone on long enough! It’s time to get back to paintball and the Ironmen. Our first official practice is this weekend and it’s a chance to catch up with some of the guys that I haven’t seen since World Cup! I want to also point out, this is the first time in two years that were not entering the new season as “World Cup Champions”.
Everybody has been busy since the last tournament in Florida. Mikko has been busy traveling around the world being a paintball ambassador. Then there’s Mike Paxson, who at any given moment could be caught down in Florida spending time with his beautiful wife and new born baby girl. If you didn’t know, Oliver Lang opened up his open sandwich shop down in San Diego called the Rubicon. Billy Wing seems to be in South America every other week doing work for DYE. Speaking of DYE, there was a major mud slide that managed to work it’s way into the DYE factory, but don’t fear, the company is still up and running!
Every off season brings lots of change and this year the Ironmen camp has already seen some. The team and Jon Richardson have parted ways. I wish Jon the very best and want acknowledge the fact that Jon was a great teammate and player. Who will replace him you ask? Well, that’s still a mystery, but should soon surface! However, I’m guessing somebody young, fast, and hungry to win (Any guesses?). I’ll be reporting on our first practice this Saturday (As long as we don’t get rained out) and should have a picture gallery to go along with it!
While I was trying to plan my year out on my trusty calendar, I came across two major events that had clashing dates. The PSP World Cup and the final leg of the Millennium Tour in Turkey both land on the same date.
This doesn’t affect many American players, but it does affect a lot of proffesional players, European players, vendors, and industry type. Two years ago the NPPL and the Millenium had the same date. After it was brought to the attention of the powers that be, the dates were changed and everybody was happy.
I’m sure the dates will change, but I just wanted to point this out. Hopefully somebody will notice and get the ball rolling.
PSP World Cup - October 20th - 24th
Millennium Turkey - October 22nd - 24th
